Video Shared With System Memory

As you know, I have been looking to buy a new laptop for sometime   Unfortunately, due to uncertainty with my job it had to be put on hold for a while.  Anyway - seems I am ok for the  next 6 months which is a relief.  

I have been looking at a Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop (Pentium M715a 1.5ghz processor).  Under the video card it says that it has an Intel Media Accelerator 900 graphics and up to 128mb shared system memory.  Don't really understand what this means  

Will this shared use have any effect on the overall memory?  I am only going to be using it for basic word processing and the internet.

for what you want it should be fine, but it does mean it takes up to 128mb of RAM from your system RAM. The graphics (video) card does not have its own memory.

How much RAM does this machine have? If it has 512mb or more I'd suggest that as long as you don't want to start playing dvd's, editing movies and playing major games etc on it you'll prob be ok. The more RAM the better though.
