MSN Messenger
« on: April 12, 2007, 09:13:15 PM »
I've read that MSN is down tonight but what message is everyone coming up with when they try and log in?  Mine keeps trouble shooting and telling me there is something wrong with my proxy (sp) or my Fire wall and i'm a bit stumped really.

Right think i might have broken it, hmmm.  Anyone got any idea what a firewall is and how i fix it?  I'm a lot of a technophobe.

Yes but its just a general error code when you go to the help page it say this error could be caused by a number of things 1. no internet access 2. MSN been down. 3. Proxy settings 4. Firewall settings and loads of others, i've tried everything but the firewall because i don't know what that is or where to find it. Thanks for the help so far i totally stupid when it comes to computers.

Go to your Start menu and click Control Panel - then click Windows Firewall and then Exeptions, make sure Windows Live Messenger is on this list. If it is on the list there must be some other problem if its not there click Add Programme and select Windows Live Messenger from the list. Hope this helps. x

I think there was a problem earlier today, heard two of my girls moaning they couldn't get connected.  Seems ok this evening though.
