Perhaps you could creat your own little section Simon - top tips for taking photos and using photoshop  ;)

We have a digital SLR and I always tend to just use the standard settings, must start reading the books we have on it.........

:-)  I did an extensive photoshop course - but im no professional.  :-)

Although I did forget to mention there is a tool for 'feathering' an outline selection in PS.  This helps eliminate the halo I was talking about!

I use photoshop with work, but have never been on a proper course, really need to spend a day or two looking into all the different tools and tricks :o)

There are a series of extremely excellent DVDs called Photoshop CS2 Total Training (I think the guys name is Deke McLennan).  It's a very in depth series of training aids if you're interested in going the distance with your learning.  Im not sure how expensive they are tho.

Link to Photoshop CS2 Total Training

It says $149 for the DVD (3 dvd set) - but trust me on this, it's worth every penny if you're serious about learning PS2.  I've not seen anything to match it.

Thought I would add a photo that I had "feathered" just so you can see what it is like, you can do more feathering though, and even change the colour of the feathered bit!

Photoshop CS2 vanishing point tool is great, It heals or clones the backgrounds away.
Tutorial is here: http://www.photoshopsupport.com/tutorials/tt-cs2/vanishing-point-tutorial.html You need quicktime to view it.
