Hi,
Well using AVG is okay for a limited ammount of time its not too good to use full time as some features are disabled. You need to check if windows firewall is turned on aswell if your using this or you cuold use a application such as zonealarm. Here are some links to some good antivirus protection: (It is absolutely vital to get and antivirus even more so if your banking online).

Kaspersky used here - half price at pc world  ;)

Same here, our pc got hacked into by a virus thing a couple of months ago despite OH having one of the free download ones (not sure which). They got my e-mail password using keylogging and we had to change our bank cards too cos we'd bought stuff online >:(  It was a real pain. OH spoke to a few techy type people and Kaspersky was recommended as one of the best anti virus programmes available, it was only £20 in PC World.

I use avast home edition as well- I prefer it to AVG as you can tweak it more.

No AV is perfect though so also look a malware bytes- you can use it for free or pay. Just run it once every bluemoon.

Also prevex 3.0 in the free mode-it will find viruses but not delete them, the big plus is that they are not scared of reporting scummy programs as malware, whereas the big boys are scared of court action. For example prevex dealt with Micro Billing Systems months before the bigger players.
