Clock and Date Settings
« on: November 14, 2010, 05:16:25 PM »
I've been having a problem for the last week with my laptop, it wont keep the time and date. So then this messes up things like my skype!

Everytime I leave it or shut it down and then turn it back on again it has the date and time from the last time I used it  >:D

So I manually change the time, but I cant click on apply I can only click on ok, so then it doesn't update it properly.

What can I do, it's driving me crazy.

Can you do a system reset to a date prior to when the problems started?

Hello,

Is this a desktop machine? It sounds like the battery on the motherboard needs replacing. They don't cost much and it's not hard to do  :D

Hope this helps.

If you have a look here
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial143.html

it explains it, it might be easier to print the page, or take notes to refer to - as when the computer is doing the restore you can't have several pages open and minimised to refer back to.

All your documents photos etc won't be affected, but hopefully your clock will 'behave' afterwards  :D
