10 cockers and a holiday, what to do???

Hi everyone!

Have just booked a holiday to take the kids to Majorca. Only problem is the kennels for the dogs cost more than the holiday!!
We have 10 cockers and they do have kennels in the garden where they would be much happier than at boarding kennels.
Could anyone suggest an alternative as obviously we can't just get anyone to look after our furry babies and family work full time. We are obviously willing to pay someone to look after them and live in the house if required.
We live south yorks, north lincs, any suggestions greatly recieved!! :D ;)

I can't suggest anyone for your area, but around here there are quite a few people that do dog walking and also offer to stay in your home with your dog(s) and house sit whist you're away - it would actually be the same cost for me to do that (I only have 2!) as it is to put them with my dog sitter in his home for the week. I'd make some calls and ask about, there is bound to be people offering a similar service near you!

You could try asking at local Vet Practice's to see if they know anyone that would stay at your home to look after them.  Our Vet's have a couple of Veterinary Nurse's that do this and because it is local they are not left on their own for more than 4 hours at a time.

Another option is Barking Mad Co..  Also look in PAH Notice Board.  Good Luck and hope you find someone suitable.  :D

There's someone on another dog forum who does dog/house sitting. I can put her in touch with you if you like?

She's very reliable and has been booked by several members of the other forum.

I know she has dogsat for people on DogPages and is trying to set up a dogsitting business.

Its difficult when you have a big family we only have 5 dogs but my son has taken a week off and my parents are doing the rest of the time  :luv:

wish I lived nearer it would be amazing 10 cockers  :luv: good luck with your search

Drat I was going to offer my services - but I don't finish work till 1st July (6 weeks to fill then)  - other wise I would have come down and stayed in your house and dog and house sat for you
