Our cocker spaniel is just about 8 months now and we haven't had her in for a grooming yet. We bathe and comb her ourselves but her hair on top of her head is looking a bit like a 1960's bouffant lately. How long should a cocker spaniels hair be typically? Is it probably time for the groomer? I tried to attach a picture but somehow am unable to.

Some people like the bouffant!
I do grooming and most of the cockers we do groom are clipped short at the owners request however there are a few who ask for the top knot to be left!
Have your dog groomed when you think she is ready, we have had a really bad summer for grass seed getting into dogs paws etc which is why a lot of owners want their dogs short, easier to keep clean too!
