Cocker Specific Discussion > Feeding
For the love of Ollie
Jaysmumagain:
Some will know I give Ollie a spoonful of pumpkin puree each meal time due to his age with sensitive tum and medication he is on.
As always over the last month or so I have ordered weekly cans of unsweetened pumpkin puree - my delivery arrived Friday and what did I get a pumpkin whole not canned !!!!
Hubby was delighted at the thought of carving the pumpkin and lighting it......till I looked on line and found it had to be cut in large wedges roasted and then pureed. I can honestly say I am up to my eyes in pumpkin :005:
The first batch is now in the oven for 45mins to an hour then cools remove skin and puree then freeze in patches - and so my Sunday goes....the planned apple cake has been put on back burner and the roast chicken will wait till later.
Oh the joys of owning - sorry being owned by a cocker spaniel

Maybe you should‘ve just waited until it turned into a carriage and swept you off to find Prince Charming!! :lol2: Hope its working its magic on Ollie anyway and that he appreciates all your efforts (although probably not! : :shades:)

I never knew there was so much work involved in cooking pumpkin, I have a whole new appreciation for tinned pumpkin! :005:
Finvarra:
One year I grew them in my greenhouse, it was a rare hot summer, and they were huge, about four huge fruits. Pumpkin pie, pumpkin soup ad infinitude. Never again! I stick to the little individual squashes!

It's amazing what you will do for your spaniel :luv:
