Agility comp at Paws in the Park in September
« on: June 27, 2007, 08:34:54 PM »
Is anyone planning on entering this? It's an open competion for all grades - I'm planning to enter Bella in the mini's on the Sunday (agility and jumping) and it will be our first competition as I've not been brave enough so far. I took her there last year and did the fun agility just to see how she was on a different course and she was fab, so fingers crossed. I'd better get fit as she likes to stick very close to me so only runs as fast as I do...

We are going to Paws in the Park too.  It is at Whitbread Hop Farm, Paddock Wood Kent and it is a fantastic weekend.  We will be entering the companion dog shows with Suki and Josie, and probably Buffy too, and Josie MIGHT be up to going into the agility but she has only just started, so not sure!
Hope to see lots of COLERS there! :005:
Penny,   Dexter (cavalier x poodle), Alfie (Whippet cross)  and  Maximus the cocker spaniel!!

We went last year (didn't compete though as it was early days). I've just sent off the entry form for Bella - closing date is tomorrow I think.

Entries need to be post marked on or before the 10th August...so you've still got a few days to make decisions!!!  Monty and I will be there cheering from the sidelines for half of the Current Pet of the Month Champion!!!...(though I think 'Go Bella' has got a better ring to it!)...and any other COLer who needs supporting with pom-poms and rhyming chants!!

We went to Paws in the Park last year.  We almost didn't go as it was the weekend after our little Meg died, but we already had the tickets and thought it might cheer us all up.  We entered lots of the companion classes, Suki got a few firsts and went on to win Best in Show - we were over the moon!
It was a great day - take plenty of cash cos there are lots of stalls all round, but look round before buying as we made the mistake of buying some things, and then finding the same on a stall further down the row much cheaper!  :005:
Now we have our caravan, I have just sent off to book a camping place for the Friday night before, so we will be there on the Saturday.
We are going to have to find some way of identifying ourselves as COLers cos Trev and Dominic get embarrassed when I go up to every cocker owner and ask if they have heard of COL and then spend ages telling them how great it is!!!!
Any suggestions?  How about a badge of some kind?  Everyone will recognise me cos I will be the slightly undertall for my weight lady with the adorable Buffy puppy, the aloof looking cream Saluki cross pulling me away from everyone and the over enthusiastic  black springer x labrador pulling me towards everyone!  Oh, and Trev and Dominic will look very long suffering!!!!

Hurray we are there on Saturday too.
Not sure how we could spot other CoLers
How about something on the dog's collars?
A red carnation :005:
Something in our hair?
