Falling off the internet
« on: March 22, 2008, 01:08:02 PM »

Don't know if anyone can help, but it's starting to drive us potty!

We have a Netgear wireless router, which worked great... but now we lose connection to the wireless network repeatedly.  Normally it reconnects automatically, but occassionally we actually have to tell it to connect.
When we do this, the signal strength is great, so really can't see why this is happening.

Our friend can connect using his laptop with no problems, so it's an issue with the laptop end, rather than the router or signal... the only thing that has happened recently is that OH renewed the virus protection (Norton) and friend reckons this might be the problem.  But where does that leave us?  Can't sit browsing the internet without the virus protection on!

Get rid of Norton (uninstall from control panel via add remove programs) go HERE and download and install AVG free, its a much much better program than Norton and best of all its free.
