I think there are a couple of COL members who do flyball with their dogs. I am hoping to take Milo in a few weeks, I contacted our local club months ago in the hope of trying but Milo injured his foot and then his leg and so it wasn't possible. Infact, you have reminded me to contact them again..

I would say cockers could be very good at flyball. Milo is ridiculously fast, loves balls and has quick reactions so cannot see why he wouldnt be good.  :lol2: I will let you know....

Our trainer says the cockers are dominating their club as they are so good, our local club is for fun only on a Saturday - we started foundation a couple of weeks ago which we have to complete before joining the club and it was great - tasters are good to go to as it is a lot for them to take in (Harvey is scared of the rubber mat at the mo, but fab at the jumps and carrying the ball...)

I fell in love with Working Cockers after seeing one run at a Flyball show. Roxy's parents and Rio's parents are Flyball dogs.  :D

we do agility but not flyball, Roxy likes balls but not as much as food, I don't think she would get the point of grabbing the ball and not playing!!

With agility she does the stuff and gets a treat so she can see the point!!

both my cockers do prefer food over flyball however getting the ball back to u and getting the reward of food works just as well as it would do in agility so dont let that put u off!!!

We have a few cockers at our club all fab at flyball.

I'm wanting to train Murphy when he is old enough - but at the mo I want to secure his agility. Murphy likes balls, food and tuggies - and they change in hierarchy in his mind depending on what mood he is in!!!!

Both Murphy's parents do flyball and are fab at it - so I'm hoping he likes it too.

I think both agility and flyball are great sports - give it a go and see what your little cocker thinks of it!!!! :luv:

:D We took Milo to his first flyball training session today! He was brilliant  and absolutely LOVED it! The trainer told me he has high hopes for him which I thought was a nice thing to say. I was very impressed, we only worked on the runs today but he picked it up straight away and was really focused and sharp! He's fine with the box too so all round a very good day.  :D Can't wait to go again!

I really want to try this with Alfie, I think he'd love it. I'm going to see if there are any clubs in Dublin so we can have a go. Glad Milo had such a good time today  :D
