Changing profile info

Am trying to hide my email address but it doesn't seem to be working.  Whether I check or uncheck the box, and press change profile it asks for my password, but doesn't change anything.

Can't quite work out what I am doing wrong.

I have checked the "hide email address from public" box for you. This means that only Admin can see your email address now. If you leave it unchecked, only other members can view your email address ("public" doesn't mean public as in anyone can see it). Hope that's ok.

Thank you Jane. 

I thought it meant the public per se could see it.  I don't mind other COLers seeing it.
