Another cocker spaniel owner with kids here  :D They are a great combo, but you'll need to train your kids as much as the dog  ;)
Hope to hear of you rescuing a new family member soon  :D Best advice is to register with lots of rescue organisations so that when the right dog comes in your ready to go rather than any paperwork holding you up and you missing out  ;) fyi, most rescues will do a 'homecheck' first where they come to the house and check out your garden, meet all of the family, find out a bit more about your lifestyle etc (to guage how much you are around the house etc) and then they can match you with the right dog :)
Good luck  :D
The reason dogs have so many friends is because they wag their tails instead of their tongues.

Hi everyone thanks for the replies, where can i register with orginisations? sorry to ask im new to all this and this was the search link i got when typing in cocker spaniel rehoming.

Oh yeah agree wouldnt leave lucy un supervised lol she would have a dog dressed up with a bottle or dummy in its mouth, wellies on its feet as soon as  my backs turned lol, like iv said in another post she loves to play and walk her grans dog, has her in the wendy house and allsorts

Yeah a homevisit would be no problem, we have alot of land for a dog to play on, and theres lots of fields backing onto my house - theres a guy few houses down with 2 alsations and iv never seen them walked - cruel in my opinion
Our lifestlye is pretty good for a dog to fit into - we go for walks most evenings usually to the local park with our daughter but again this is across the fields, our working hours are not bad either, i only work thursdays for 3 hours and fri n sat for 7  so a doggie would only be on its own no more than 6 hours on a saturday
