Thanks everyone, but I don't think I have been that great a trainer, I find it so difficult to be consistent with everything  ph34r :huh: I think Chloe has learnt so much, despite my inadequacies  iyswim  :shades:

I'm really pleased Sue, and don't put yourself down, most of it is due to you having the commitment to Chloe and putting in the work. :D

Its great that you feel happier about Chloe, perseverance does pay off. I like to think that Bonnie Boo is 90% good off lead with the other 10% just to keep me on my toes. I would love to go walking where you live it seems ideal.

It's horizontal rain, blowin a hooley and the Island is enveloped in mist. Chloe has been as far as the garden so far  ph34r :005: We're snuggled up on the sofa, in front of a roaring fire instead of hiking into the Cuillins  :shades: ;)

Shame about the weather Sue. I know how pleasing the consistent improvements on walks is, and I expect you were looking forward to a lovely hike. It is gloriously hot and sunny down here, so Rufus will not go out till much later. Hope the weather improves so you can do your walk.

Oh, that's a shame you couldn't get out, hopefully it will be better weather tomorrow. :D

I've been quite cold since we came home, it's definitely better down south! >:(

No problem John, yes its a ruffwear harness. It's only the second time she has worn it and tbh, I'm finding the back strap won't stay tite, by the time we get back to the van, its come loose. Might be my fault, I'll need to check I'm adjusting it properly. It takes quite a while to dry and all sorts of things get stuck in it, but I'm sure it will be more comfortable for her than her sporn or halti harness once we are out on the hill all day and she has to be on lead when there's sheep around.

I think it is the XS like I got Rufus. I haven't really needed Rufus's, as the long line has not been needed in the new regime. Rufus is the maximum girth for the chest strap, but the fit was exact at his private parts for the other strap. Don't think he liked his-used it 3 or 4 times, but absolutely brilliant for picking up the dog one handed for stiles etc.. I thought it was the best harness we had tried, but the sizing is difficult for a short wheel bas cocker like Rufus. His was £40, so not cheap.

On that walk (about an hour and half) we met two couples today, a month or so ago, we would have met more, the tourists are starting to thin out a bit now  ;) Most of our usual walks we often don't meet another soul, maybe one other dog walker about twice a week  ;) It's very quiet in this neck of the woods  ;)
