Shenmore Starlet & Shenmore Seeing Stars

For Daisy (1989-2003) & Katie (1992-2003)

In memory of two special Cocker girls who left us just over a year ago. Daisy was a quiet, gentle soul who gave so much but asked for so little. She had to be given sleep when the inoperable cancer which had been slowly growing became too much for her. Just a month earlier, we had had to say goodbye to her daughter, Katie, at only 11 years old due to liver failure. Katie was one of those once in a lifetime dogs & we were privileged to have known her. Her achievements in the show ring are too many to mention but it is as a wonderful companion she is most missed – even now it is hard to believe I’ll never hear her “Whoo Whoo-ing” for her meals again or see her lying on her back, legs waving in the air, smiling & wagging her bum all at the same time! She had fought her illness with typical Cocker stubbornness but one day the light in her eyes went out & we knew she could fight no more. I still see echoes of her in her children & grandchildren but there will never be another Katie.

Also remembering our other lovely Cocker girls who have left us over the years: Jenny, Holly, Jodie & Heather, all much missed & never to be forgotten.
