Lap dog?
« on: November 22, 2014, 07:57:05 PM »
I love it when Bobby curls up and sleeps on my lap. He's 20 weeks old now and weighs about 7kg. Is this behaviour that I should encourage, or will I regret it when he's older and heavier?

Humbug is 15kg. When I lie on the sofa he lays on top and puts his head in my shoulder. The perfect cuddle. Worth it completely xxx :bigarmhug: :bigarmhug: :bigarmhug:

Got to admit army is not allowed on the chairs, mainly because of the cats and because I don't want him to jump up on my Mums furniture which would give apoplexy. I sit on the floor and let him snuggle up which is nice and comfy but he usually gets too warm and gets off after a while, he's a right fidget bottom.  I plan to train him to come up on the settee when called when he is about a year old so he knows its a reward not something he can do all the time.

You'll only regret it when you have TWO 13kg cockers balancing on your knee, AND when you're six months pregnant and can hardly breathe  :005:

My two are not allowed on the furniture, so only come up for a cuddle when I invite them. Having said that Maddie will only come up if she feels like it but Bramble would be on my knee all the time!

Murphy is a funny one for sitting on laps. He doesn't really do it very often but if I hold one of his toys he will jump up and settle down on my lap.

I wish he would do it more to be honest but I don't think it is his thing. He would rather sit on the snuggler which he considers to be his chair.

Maybe when he is older he might become more of a lap dog.
