I met up with Colin, Jimmy and Misty today and we had a really good walk at the foot of the Ochil Hills :D
Butty came back with half of the moss from the Ochils stuck to her undercarriage so I decided to give her a bath. I bathed her and rubbed her down and opened the stair gate to let her downstairs to have her mad fit....as you do when your a cocker and just been bathed
I didn't lock the gate behind her...and was in the bathroom trying to get all the moss and twigs out of the bath  when Hayley my oldest daughter shouted..."Mummy, Butty is on your bed" I went through to the bedroom and low and behold there she was SQUATTING and doing a pee on my bed
What I can't understand is why she would do this...as Adrian was downstairs and would have let her out if she has needed the toilet :?
Also before my friend Mags had her cocker Roana, she had a lovely springer bitch who did the very same thing. If she got upstairs she ALWAYS pee'd on the bed :? Is there a reason for this behaviour???
Obviously I didn't give her a row...but rushed frantically to get the quilt cover off before it soaked right through

oh Gilly!!!
I have to admit, that I did chuckle when I saw this  however I know I would be absolutely furious and gutted if Millie did it to me, so I apologuise for my chuckles
Unfortunately I can't think of any reason why she would - barr perhaps being incredibly excited about the whole situation ... ? :?:
I'm sure one of our behaviour specialists will be along soon though, and they'll probably have an answer! :)

Well Mary has just told me she thinks it's a scent thing mixed with excitement. "Scent" i said.....are you implying i smell of pee
I just think it's an excitement thing...they do tend to go a bit giddy when they've had a bath...well Butty does anyway
I have to admit she hasn't pee'd in the house since she was a baby
Actually i wasn't mad at all....I very rarely ever get mad at Butty...cos she's just to god damn cute  :D

I think it's probably a one-off Gilly  The excitement of a) having met colng, jimmy and misty B) the excitement of having a bath and c) the excitement of managing to get upstairs!!!
They never fail to surprise us, do they

Sorry Gilly but I laughed too
This has happened to me twice, with two different girls.
The last time I did'nt know till I got into bed and thought this bed feels really cold :? I then realised it was wet  and it was dog wee  It had soaked through the quilt and into the matress
Iwas not a happy person!
Not sure why they do it though, I think it`s scent marking, but who knows.

I agree - mine have done this in the past - especially on the spare bed - different people etc - but they have done it on mine too on the odd occasion.
I think it is a scenting thing caused by confusion - either that or just being a typical keep you guessing Cocker :D
-
Yep i've been a victim of stelth weeing too!!!!!
This is Willows trick - she gets worked up and the little brains she has got fly out of the window!!!!
I usually find this out when i sit in it!!!!!
Result = Wet bum and guilty looking cocker! :?

hi
i just wrote something similar in another part of the group, but try "GET OFF", FROM PETS AT HOME. it works, elmo did that to me, and my hubby and i slept with coats on, not impressed.
The GET OFF is a citrus smell, and i sprayed the bed and when elmo jamp up he soon went down again, sneezing, he has never done it again.
it cost around£3.00
hope this helps

Hi Gilly. Pickle, who at 8 months is 99% house trained, quite often likes to pee on the floor after a bath. He's never been clever enough to do it upstairs (where it would cause maximum fuss  ) but instead likes to do it under the dining table. He has a mad crazy run round the house, then sneaks under the table and pees! Wee horror!
I always assumed it was just because he was wet anyway, and thinks I won't notice if he pees - I might just think he's dripping a lot???!!! Anyway, now I always take him out before a bath, even if he's been out half an hour earlier, and stand repeating 'hurry up' to him until he feels obliged to squeeze out whatever's in his bladder!!! Can take sometime, but worth it for a pee-free floor

Hi - I have had this happen too. Both times it has happened my girl came into season soon after and I wondered if it was a territorial marking behaviour?.
-
Hello,
Balu has done that a couple of times. Usually if she feels jealous of something, or very very excited... mostly of jealous. Cudling other dogs is a serious reason for doing that ;-), but maybe it just happened ;-)
take care,
George.

Could she be coming into season? All mine always "loose their brains" when in season
-
Hiya - could she be coming into season, I always know when ebby is coming in - if I haven't noticed already as this is her trick. Love the term stealth weeing lol
Could it possibly be due to stomach pain, cramping, so need to go where they feel safe and smells of you!!!!!!
Don't really know why - just ebby does it season time - which is coming up, so glad pete always goes to bed first  saves me a job lol

I'm no expert, but I would say this little episode was due to excitement,
( why do they always go crazy after a bath? does anybody know.
Evie pee'd on my sofa at the weekend ( I just put it down to her age  )

Mmmmmmm, not too sure about the coming into season theory as i've had 2 male cockers & they have both done this too :? ....glad i'm not the only one
I thought that it could be a territory thing in our house because the cat lies on my bed & they probably smelt her scent,i also found her weeing on my 1st cockers bed,i'd told him off a few times for wetting his bed  but then caught my cat in the act :? .....worse than kids they were
I must admit i did chuckle when i read this   ...good job we love 'em eeh  !!!
luv
