I have put on my letter to Santa an Affix :D Now I think they can be up to 12 letters long? I am going to order the Kennel club Affix book but thought I would ask the wonderful people on Col to help :D

So far I have come up with:

Billabi
Notah

and these took me days.........

So information I can provide? Our names David and Megan and Michelle, dogs names Billy and Abby.  Abby's show name is Princess Vegas.

Any help appreciated.

What about

Daganelle

or

do you have a house name? Some people use those.

It's really hard isn't it    It took me ages to get mine (Glowstar) and that wasn't my first choice either, which was Glowdell.

I spent ages doing anagrams of all our names, then went the place name route only to find any that had any relevance were already taken    In the end I went for the "Glow" which is for "G"illian and my maiden name "LOW"e and then just added the star on the end because I thought it sounded nice

Have you thought of previous address names, streets etc or your current one? then team it up with something else?

How about

AVANELLE

(AV) from David, (AN) from Megan & (ELLE) from Michelle?

Edited to Add: I'm sure it's 14 you can have not 12? but bear in mind there is a limit of letters in KC names so the longer your affix, you won't have as many letters left for the KC name.

Michelle, if you order the KC affix book, be warned that it's 2 years old at least & hundreds of new affixes have been approved since then which don't appear in it. If you want me to look up any of your ideas in my affix book (to save you ordering it), just PM me with them & I'll check them for you :)

Thanks Jane :D I will do that, I can't believe they are selling a book 2 years out of date when the idea behind it is to check affix availability.  I will try and get it down to a short list :D

I haven't used it for ages, but there is a website that creates anagrams for you - you can put in any combination of names/letters and ask it to come up with one, two, three or four word anagrams - some of them are hilarious - others are frankly weird !!  Just type in ANAGRAMS on your search engine and give it a go !!!  Mind you, sometimes going for something more subtle is nicer than trying to make names out of your own.

I know a couple, called Brian and Karen, and they have two boys which they called Ryan and Aaron.  Ok, fine, but doesn't it mean their children are somehow diminshed by their parents, instead of having their own identity??

Sometimes, the anagram or play on names can grate a bit - hopw often have we all been out walking and gone past houses called DonanLiz or the equivalent??

Let your mind go blank (sorry, did someone say something???) oh, yes, clear your mind and think of the dog's character and try to 'associate' with lovely images - that may give you more inspiration that trying to call him Enoch Blunderbuss or whatever your anagramatictal possibilities allow !!

:o  Thank goodness I got mine a couple of years ago then - it was only 3 at that time   I had my main choice picked easily enough but found it really difficult coming up with the other two
Dallas ( 10) & Disney ( 9 )
