There is a golden hairy fat boy in the York RSPCA who I know well but he bites without warning
and is for sure a project that may never be finished.
He was kept in a caravan on his own for most of his life and has the mental scars to show for it.
The staff at the centre believe he has rage which I disagree with having had him in my home for five days.
He is however very consious of his own space and will bite without warning anyone invading it.
If you fancy a challenge and are used to dogs of this sort then he is desperate.
I am walking him tomorrow.

Don't want to appear choosy and picky, but I really only wanted to adopt another girl/s. But thank you to everyone who has posted some very helpful and encouraging info.

I know you say you have a 'preference' for a girl - but you never know when a dog may just 'appeal' to you regardless of sex  ;)

Worth looking at them all - may not be for you but you may be able to point someone else in that dog's direction.

Mark - it would be lovely to see that boy rehomed

I fostered Louie knowing about his aggression and he has found a new home ( not in it just yet! ) - there were ways of managing his aggression and hopefully the same could be done for the one you are seeing so he can get out of kennels as you don't often see a dog's true personality until out of that environment.
Louie was changing week by week - for the better i may add!

I would have kept him but doug and Sam did not get on big time!
He needs someone experienced and willing to put in the hard yards with him and take him for what he is.
He is not for the average dog owner for sure.

Here you go
http://www.dogpages.org.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=116754&st=10
I was going to see him today but didn't make it so it will be tomorrow.
It would be great to get this lad out of there but convincing the York RSPCA that maybe another rescue is going to be hard.
If you and penny are willing I will do what I can for the lad from this end.
After all he was officially my dog for five days! I do feel a sense of responsibility for his well being.

I've checked out Baby, but it seems from talking to the rescue people that she really should go to an only dog home and i've still got Ethel and I would want to put Baby and Ethel through any trauma by forcing one another on each other.
