Africa at Many Tears
« on: June 15, 2010, 07:56:43 PM »

 :luv: :luv: :luv:

14-06-10 Africa is a 7 yr old female ex breeding cocker spaniel. This truly lovely girly is a little nervous in her new surroundings so will need a very special home with lots of TLC, time and patience.  Africa is happy to be handled and fussed and is a lively girl.   she will need a home with a doggie companion.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home ex-breeding dogs where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company.  They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up.

This dog is at the main rescue centre in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING THIS DOG:
Please read our adoption procedures before applying and complete the Adoption Form. You will be contacted within 24 hours. If successful you will be home checked and you and all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the new dog. All our dogs are micro-chipped, had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. We ask for a minimum adoption fee of £160 for dogs at the centre.

Ds Cameron thinks Africa is Pepper's (Brussel Sprout's) Mummy or Grannie! Their so similar in looks and size.

Would love to Foster Africa but it wouldn't be fair on Jo who's very kindly puppysitting for us.

As soon as I saw it I thought that they had made a mistake and that it was 'Brussel sprout', I think your DS could well be right ;)

From their site

02-06-10 UPDATE
Africa has been with us now for nearly two weeks what a sweetheart she is - her tail has not stopped wagging.  When she first came here she was very scared  - crawling round on her tummy she was scared of everyone.  Now she greats us and people she meets on her walks.  She spends a lot of time asleep you don't know she's in the house most of the time. She loves to come up on your knee for cuddles Africa is not 100% on the lead yet but on her walks in the woods without out her lead on she never leaves your side.  She is great with other dogs but would go well as only dog with someone with her all day for company.  Africa is a great little girl she sleeps downstairs in the kitchen in her bed she makes no noise or mess she is a joy to have in our home.  Someone is going to get a special little girl and perfect companion when they adopt her.

From MT site

23-07-10 UPDATE
 Hi everyone Africa here,
What a gem of a girl I am (so my foster mum says).  I'm 100% house trained, I'm good on the lead, I'm so well behaved you wouldn't know I'm here.  I've been here four weeks and my foster family are getting so attached to me that if no one adopts me soon it will be so hard for them to let me go.  Even my six foster sisters and brother are attached to me.  I love going for walks in the woods and paddling in the sea, I love the fridge especially the contents.  My only vice is I like to shred the newspaper and books which isn't all that bad.  You can tell I'm happy because my tail never stops wagging.
