CAESAR - Blake - 14 year old deaf/blind show type
« on: February 11, 2011, 03:27:26 PM »
Poor old gent finding himself in rescue at 14 years  :'( so sad for all.  :'(
Hope he find a home soon.  :luv:

Blake is a small 14½ year old Black show type Cocker, who ugently needs a foster home. He is completely deaf and is almost blind (he can see shadows). He has had bad hips all his life and he can struggle a bit in bad weather. He is very good with the young child that he lives with and he used to live with another dog until two years ago. He has met cats and rabbits and is more curious than anything else. He still pulls a little on the lead, but he cant be let off lead due to his deafness. He travels well in the car and he is quite a sprightly dog! Blake needs a nice secure garden and someone to snuggle upto in the evening. He needs a new home as his owners are moving into rented accommodation

Poor old boy :'(

My Josh was deaf and almost blind when he was a bit older than Blake and I'm sure he would have found it incredibly difficult and distressing to have to adapt to a new home and new people. Josh was still going out for short walks and was quite lively and was pain free, but he couldn't cope with furniture being moved in the house and sometimes got lost down the bottom of the garden and needed to be rescued.

I hope Blake finds the perfect retirement home soon with someone who understands his needs and has lots of time to cuddle him on their sofa.

It breaks your heart. Kennels is really no place for him at his age. As we will be at CAESSR tomorrow I'm tempted to go and see him but I don't know whether bringing two dogs home is a good idea.

Oh doG.   :'(  Hopefully he's such a shame he'll be rehomed very quickly.  Otherwise I'll have to divorce OH and do it myself.  Where is CAESAR?

Their kennels are in Cheadle, Staffs - near Alton Park if you're that way inclined.

Does anyone know if he's still waiting for a home?  Did you see him John51?  I'd just hate to see one of my cockers in his position.  Trouble is he's uninsurable and there'll probably be quite hefty vet bills.  Very tempted 'though.
