FTCH REGULUSKNOWE GOLD OF MAESYDDERWEN
« on: April 24, 2009, 12:02:15 AM »
Hey guys,

Just having a bit of a nosey at pedigrees (not of my own dogs), and have come across FTCH REGULUSKNOWE GOLD OF MAESYDDERWEN which is a dog that I know nothing about, and can't find any info on him in all of the obvious places. However, I do know that he has produced some rather lovely pups who have turned into superb, true to type, workers some of which have become FT CH's themselves.
I was just wondering whether any of you working cocker folk had seen this dog in action in the field (I'm guessing he'll be either quite old now or dead). Also if anyone has a photo of him or knows what colour he was (I'm guessing gold/red!) then I'd be keen to hear from ya!

Thanks  :D

You could try here http://www.cynhinfasportingdogs.com/dogs.php?proid=raq3f634ac31d167
He is Wherry's GGGsire on Mother's side, he was put to FTCH Kenine golden flash to produce Wherry's Great grandsire though he is just called 'Snowy Blaze'

I have a feeling Nic's Mr. Squidgy chops may be related there too but I may be compleeeeetly wrong  :lol2:

I don't know if he's still alive but he was born in 1994 so I'm guessing probably not. He belonged to Peter Jones of Maesydderwen and was either lemon and white or lemon roan, the one photo I have is not very clear and I have it as one on one record and the other on another ::)  He is one of Rodaidh's GG Grandsires (put to FTCH Housty Saffron to produce FTCH Wintonwildfowl Serin), he had impeccable breeding and produced some fabulous offspring.

he belonged to the late Hedley Millington and was bred by the Cunninghams. I guess he must first have gone to the Jones hence the addition of their affix but he was certainly one of the Nancarrow stud dogs. He was reg as lemon and white. Im sure there is a picture of him on the Nancarrow site if its still live which I think it will be as Hedleys wife has continued with the dogs. His last litter sired was a couple of years ago.

He's in Mike Smith's book as belonging to Peter Jones although Hedley Millington's on a couple of websites as his owner. He must have been sold on at some point.

I just had a squizz at the book again and he's listed under HM's name too as a stud dog so I guess Peter made him up to a FTCH and then sold him on.

yes, he belonged to the Jones first and then went to Hedley but I cant remember when, and if he was made up before going to Nancarrow or not....
