Hi, I just want to give you all an update!

We were at the vets today and discussed everything with them properly. Next Thursday and Friday Saffi will be going in for the Alizin injection. This can be given from day 1-45. So I am not sure why the original emergency vet mentioned 10-28 days. The vet advised on this being the best solution. I also think this is the best thing for her! If we want to find out if she is actually pregnant (ultrasound), then we need to take her to the city to an unknown vet which is really far away etc..I think my husband still wants to perhaps check this out and find out if she is actually pregant before going ahead with the injections (not sure if he will once he finds out the cost. He noticed yesterday that I had stocked up on things that the pets need, ie. worming tablets, ear cleaner, sore cleaner etc...and he said that they have more stuff than we do, all because he we ran out of paracetmol).

We are still waiting for a reply from the SKK via e-mail!

So wish Saffi luck that all goes well next week.

Thanks once again for all the support.

Earlier in the week I started having 2nd thoughts. We considered just waiting and finding out if she was pregnant, then let her have them (as I really didn't like the possible side effects of Alizin). So I was in a dilemma again:-( I then felt better after having spoken to a 4th vet so Saffi had the Alizin yesterday and then again today. She seems her normal self and all is okay....WE HOPE! I suppose time will tell!

BTW We could have registered the puppies providing the necessary tests were done and clear before we reg. them. The SKK said it would be allowed this once, but if anything like this happens again, then it would have to go to the board for an appeal. I was quite shocked by all of this. I even spoke to the cocker club and told them, they then said that it happens from time to time etc..but the cocker club wouldn't be happy, or something like that (it is so much easier to communicate in English:-)

So thank you to all of you! (esp. for not giving me a lecture, as I think I would have just completely broken down at the time) I will keep you all posted of any side effects and of course Saffi's overall wellbeing. I hope this thread helps others in the future!
