I dont use 'stay' or 'wait'  ph34r
If I give Betty a command, sit, stand or down, I just repeat that action I want to continue, vocally, and with a hand signal......IYSWIM?

I use hand signals and verbal with Dave. I use 'wait' in the same way as you and the hand signal for that is a kind of quick 'stop' sign with my palm facing him and he mustn't move until I give him another command.

'Stay' does mean don't move until I come back to you.

I did same --- I always use word 'stay' along with a hand signal in similar way.

Looking good! Just remember to build up duration in small increments before you start asking for too much distance.

Yes I was taught only to say 'stay' when I 1st gave the command --- I also didn't give them eye contact either as this was more likely to break the stay plus stood side on.

i've been standing infront of him. OH has said to stand side on but i didn't think it made a difference?

found out that sam had just been quick to learn, phoned OH to tell him i had got him to stay for ten seconds, they had been practising last night after i went o bed :005: ph34r ::)
