Hi
Does anyone have Kennel Club Insurance? I am being tied to taking out my insurance with them for my puppy as he needs an eye operation and it's 2 days after his 4 weeks free cover runs out.
The trouble I have is that I have to not only pay an excess but also a % of the final bill??!!! Is this common in pet insurance?
Thanks
Nikki

Hi. I've got it for Rowan. We stayed after her 4 weeks puppy and she's had (and faces) eye operations. They've paid out quickly and with no issues. I think paying % is normal these days??

I've had Indy insured with the KC since he was a puppy and he's 3 now. His renewal has just come in and the premium has risen to £37.93 per month and the excess to £85. We don't have to pay any percentage of the final bill. We have only made a few claims for him but they have always paid out very quickly.
Murphy is insured with Pet Plan and all my other dogs have been too. Chester my CKCS was 8 years old before I had to start to pay a percentage of the final bill.

Are you tied due to how close the end of free 4weeks is?
If not, you can take another insurance out, and if you do so 2weeks into the free 4weeks, the 14day exclusion means your new policy will cover from end of the free cover.

Yes I have kc insurance. As it seems there the only ones who cover working dogs, who work on shoots,
They were very helpfull I also have an £85 excess and 10% of the final bill, I only plan to claim if the bill is very high, for an 8 week pup it came to £247 a year.
