Just had my renewal through! We have Platinum insurance last year it was £75.20 this year its £179.93 :'( :-* How can they do this??????

I'm with Argos and had a large increase this year.
Meg's, who's 8 went up by £10 a month (sorry I pay by DD so can't remember the details) to nearly £30 but Jakey's only increased by about £2 per month to about £12 per month.
I did look into changing but pre-existing conditions are not covered if you move and Meg had a series of Anal Gland problems and I'm in the process of claiming for Jakey's bladder crystals so I guess his will go up next year.

Thats a big jump. I have Ellie insured with Petplan on the highest cover and this only went up by £30 this year.

I am with Argos - not sure when the renewal is due but it must be soon. Looks like I might be changing provider again then ::) >:(

Yep, my renewal came through last month........ it had more thab doubled :o no claims made or anything, so I rang to ask why, they said I lived in a dog theft high risk area!!!! absolute B.S.!! So I cancelled!!
what reasons were you given?

I was told the cost of vets fees have gone up beyond inflation and they have increased benifits! Ive changed to AA the gold cover, its slightly less on the vets fees it is £5000 instead of £6000 but everything else is the same. That is £108 per annum so £70 cheaper than argos! huge difference!!!!!

I always thought pet insurance didn't go up if you claimed (unlike other types of insurance) but just went up for everyone --- I've claimed thousands on petplan and still pay the same as everyone else (I think Ollie's vet bill for this current problem is over a grand)
