Title: Pre-existing conditions again...
Post by: emms on August 12, 2010, 06:34:56 PM
I'm sure some of you more knowledgable people will know the answer to this, well I hope so anyway  :lol2:

Am i right in thinking you would need to call potential insurance companies in advance of taking out a policy to discuss any previous treatment, so exclusions are placed on the policy from the start?

Thanks

Not a pet insurance expert but would have thought there would be questions about previous illnesses/accidents/treatments before a quote is given? :-\

Yes.  After my Fizzy dobie was diagnosed with AIHA when her insurance was up for renewal, because it had been 'per condition', I took out a policy 'per year'.  I did it online and it asked about pre-existing conditions so I declared it.

Thank you, all the online quotes I got didn't ask, but in the T&C stated that any pre existing conditions wouldn't be covered.  I was just suprised that it wasn't part of the quoting process  :dunno:
