Our girl cocker is 12 weeks and microchipped.
Looking for insurance for when our 'free' insurance runs out and from what I've read on here - do these quotes sound right or over the top??
For
Lifetime cover
£7000 approx
excess £100
We are being quoted:
Axa £19.02 p.m.
Tesco extra cover lifetime £23.74
Argos Platinum £25.59
Debenhams Gold £14.40?? (sounds more like it but need to check further)
Direct Line £20.65
Could any of you please advise if these sound right?
Thank you

I pay 25.00 for my 9 month Male cocker ( was 14 weeks when policy was taken out) - through Pet Plan
Lifetime cover 7k a year and 85.00 excess or something like that
I have an ongoing war with them though

I have both phoebe and mia through argos platinum but don't pay what you have been quoted ph34r. I must admit that I have looked else where and came across www.lv.com and their quote was good AND it was £5,0000 worth of cover per ailment not per year so I will be changing over in April when my 2 need renewing ;)
Where have you been hiding Charlene :lol2: :luv:

It'll also depend what part of the country you live and what each policy includes as premiums can vary quite a bit.
I'm in NE Scotland and I pay just over £15 a month with Axa for a 7 year old male.

I'm with axa and have been for at least a year, freya is now 2 and a half and I pay £9.08 for her :-\ they are usually the best value so quotes have gone up a lot since I insured Freya with them  and my excess is £75

I'm with the PDSA for my two and pay £30 a month for both, with £7000 cover for lifetime. I think Olllie is £16 and Poppy is £14.

sounds about right. my parents got a really good deal with PDSA

After double checking and ringing, have now found out that Debenhams wasn't a lifetime policy, so the best one so far is Axa at £19.02. I think you're right Jay about postcodes. We are in the South East so perhaps that's why it's a bit dearer?
Thank you

I got Tilly and Erin insured with Argos..life cover...but was not quoted anywhere near that for Tilly who is 14 weeks...She is 14 pounds and Erin who is 6 is 23 pounds per month

we're with Axa, via the RSPCA and managed by BDML....
So far so good, been with them for 6 years - currently paying about £27 for Millie (10 years) and £24 for Jennie (8 years). 6 years ago I was paying around £25 combined, and slowly it's increased, though to be honest I don't think the increases have been extortionate and because they have always been so good, with the lifetime cover for Jennie's ongoing eye problem I've never been worried about moving (despite some nice cash back offers and some 'cheaper' deals).
We get £6500 per condition per year, it's lifetime cover and has a £75 excess ... no complaints, really pleased with them, best insurance company I've had to deal with, so fingers crossed they pay out Jennie's rather large spinal surgery bill ....
Not a big pet plan fan - 6 years ago they wanted £30 per dog for less cover than the RSPCA / Axa were providing.

I have just had a quote from AXA for lifetime cover £7000
1st dog £12.41 per month
2nd dog gets 5% discount
Im going with them as this is less than 1/2 of what my renewal has come in at

Sounds like a good deal.

I actually went with Pets at home in the end as it was a good price for £9,500 cover.
Thanks for your replies.
