Title: feeding raw deer bones

we got a front leg bone of a deer from our butcher with a good bit of meet on it would this be ok for rosie ?

Hi Lola

I'm sure it will be fine for Rosie to have a chew on to get any flesh off, but as weight bearing bones (i.e legs of most animals) are not recommended as they have the potential to splinter and on occasion damage teeth due to their density, then I would say take it away once she gets down to the bone to prevent any splintering or possible tooth damage

I'm sure there are a few people on here who feed weight bearing bones without any problems at all but personally I prefer not to once the flesh has gone
