Insurance advice?...pet protect, purely pets, animal friends
« on: March 08, 2013, 01:24:29 PM »
Hi all,

Well the insurance renewal has come in from John Lewis and it's gone up from £225 to £356 per year. Florence doesn't ahve any pre-existing conditions so I'm thinking of changing her to somewhere else.

I've just looked at quotes and there seems to be equivalent cover by pet protect, purely pets or animal friends all for between £240-£280. Has anyone got any v. good or v bad opinions on any of these?

Thoughts much appreciated!  :D

None of them, but I did get a much better quote from Axa this year for Ruby and Jem. I've just changed to them.

Me too, switched from Pets@Home to AXA

Unfortunately, John Lewis have changed their underwriter from AXA to Royal and Sun Alliance.  Marks and Spencer did exactly the same when I insured Charley with them and my premiums rocketed.  I regret not insuring Henry with AXA directly.  I expect his insurance premium will shoot up at renewal.  Unfortunately, as he's recently been diagnosed with epilepsy, there is no point in changing insurers.

Oh oh - I've just changed to John Lewis for Alfie (3yrs)! The Plus cover with £60 excess is £173 which I thought was quite reasonable but am guessing I'll get a shock when I go to renew it next year.
