Anyone with More than?
« on: April 08, 2015, 03:13:13 PM »
We have been with John Lewis for Rileys insurance.
His first year was £16 per month,  we unfortunatley claimed (emergency vet as a pup)
So I did expect the next year to increase, which it did to £24
The next year stayed at £24 but we have just had his renewal in now (he is 3)
They want £30 per month.
Needless to say Im shopping around now.

Anyone with More than?
Ive seen similar cover (I think) to JL with £12,000 per year vets fees and its £20 per month.

I'm with more than, but on their old style policy.
Our renewal is due July...

I'm with More Than and Harvey's insurance has shot up. We now pay £34 a month and the only pay outs we've had is for chocolate poisoning when he was 8 months. I'm going to shop around before his next renewal is due.

The difference between the older policy and the new ones are that you pay an excess per claim, the older policy you only pay one excess no matter how many illnesses.

Have you tried a comparison site to get an idea of other prices?

Thats a bit like the JL one we have now,  pay once per year no matter how many claims.
Havent shopped around just yet .

I think that'll be your main consideration, picking one that is possibly more expensive but 1 off excess vs cheaper but more excesses.

I have two dogs with More Than and one with Pet Plan. I don't think More Than are the cheapest but I have never had any trouble with any claims and Tessa my Springy (now sadly at the bridge) had osteoarthritis all over her and they paid monthly for everything which included traditonal pain meds, acupuncture and hydrotherapy. Carrie my current Springy has been to Langford and had an MRI which shows she has problems with her elbows that will need arthroscopy but this hasn't made her renewal go up which I was pleasantly surprised at....good luck, it's a minefield  ;)
