Insurance for lip fold operation
« on: September 12, 2015, 07:41:42 PM »
Just wondering if anyone has been able to claim for this on their insurance? Harry has to have the operation whether they will pay or not, but vet says we are looking at 'several hundred'  :o so I will at least try to make a claim

Reading my policy through i suspect they will say it was a preexisting condition so won't pay.
Vet suggested I phone and say I am having it done as a preventative measure to stop further health problems.

Just wondered if anyone else had claimed for this and how you got on  :D

Yes, Coco had it done several years ago and I claimed on her insurance no problem.   :D

Definitely worth a try  ;)

Beau will have this lipfold operation in about 3 weeks time as we have been unable to keep him free of infections, no sooner do we get it under control than it flares up again.  He has just started an antibiotic course again to reduce it before the operation.
The insurance company say its a continuation of his previous treatments (not a pre existing condition) subject to the normal annual claim limit.
Interested to hear of success or otherwise other people have had with this op.
