Help - I need a Show Lead!
« on: April 18, 2006, 02:29:46 PM »
Dear all,

Henry and I are entered in our first show (Marlborough District Open Show) on 1st May (which seemed ages away when I entered, but now seems way too soon!).  We've been going to Ringcraft classes, but now need to buy a show-lead.  I've tried lots of pet shops, but to no avail!  I guess I need to find one on-line, but wondered if any of you have any recommendations?

Thanks!
Ally and Henry the Hound xx

Hello
First of all good luck for your 1st show

There shall b a stand there called hide and collars

These are leather leads but they are alot better then the nylon cheap leads they are dear but are worth the money

Oh, some of those are lovely! Not cheap tho!  Just one more question - what colour?  Should I be safe and stick to black?!

Sorry,  yet another question!  What sort of width should I go for?  Is 6mm about right?

Thanks again!

What are the nylon ones called that aren't half check chain, they go loose and are draped on the shoulders then tightened when running them?

I tryed  a lot of different show leads, and in my opinion the best are for golden retrievers but more thin then for goldens..Like this on Appie (GBGV),he's not a cocker but the same I use for cockers, only another color..

They're called slip leads, like the one in the picture above, the clip slides up and down.
