we had a fab walk up in the woods this morning until i heard a god-awful scream from jarv and he came running back to me blood pouring from his mouth (and subsequently we both looked like axe murderers...)
from what i could see he had caught his tongue on barbed wire as he was running (some small cuts) and he had horrendous swelling on the underside of the other side of his tongue so i think he's wrenched it.
poor little lad managed to get some icy cold tripe down his neck this morning but now it is too painful for him to even open his mouth to drink or eat....
vet thought it could be a bite or sting, i don't think so - can't see any puncture wounds, and the cuts on his tongue were definitely not a puncture - think he was going too fast and his tongue collided with brambles or barbed wire.
he is sooo miserable, and i am really worried that he won't/can't drink. I just hope he doesn't have to stay at the v.e.t's, he hates it there (and tbh so do i
tonight we see a complete stranger cos all the other vets he's had are on holiday....)
