How do you find out about local shows?

Hi, as some of you may know we have just brought home our beautiful cocker puppy, when she is old enough next year we would love to start to do some fun/less serious shows and wondered how you guys find out about them. I have googled it but without much luck. I am from Devon so dont really want to travel out of the southwest. How did you start showing? Did you go to ringcraft shows first? Any tips and advice would be greatly received.

If you want to just do open & companion shows, you can find details of shows all over the country, in the dog press ie Dog World & Our Dogs.
Some companion show will be advertised in your local press - usually more in the Summer months though.

Ringcraft is a must to learn what is expected of you & your dog & you will be able to pick up shedules for forthcoming shows there.
