another show question...
« on: April 22, 2004, 11:55:29 AM »
I was just looking in my catalogue from crufts where I wrote down the results, but then I started wondering, what does VHC, HC and C means?
:? I have an idea, but can anyone explain it to me just so I'll get it right?

The order of placing is as follows

1st,  2nd,  3rd, Reserve (4th),  VHC (5th) and then only in the upper classes at Crufts (I think) do you get HC(6th) and C(7th)

Most Open shows only place to VHC (5th)

Hope this is clear

So if a judge thinks highly of (example) 8 - 10 dogs he can't give no. 8, 9 and 10 a C as well?

No, he or she can't. At most shows, there are only 5 places on offer so in the big classes at Championship shows, most of the dogs leave the ring without anything at all as we don't have a grading system as in other countries.
