I have recently insured my two with M&S and all they asked was for my vets address, and had either ever been treated for anything other than vaccinations? as the answer was no cover could start from any date I wished?

Michelle

Michelle, I think they ask for the vets address so they can write to them for confirmation that your application is genuine.

I did indeed Mary   Had to phone them twice cos the first lady I spoke to didn't ring me back   When I called the second time, they were just waiting on the veterinary advisor coming in so put me on hold. She then came back on and said there would be a letter coming out with the relevant exclusions and they would extend the cover note to include the 11 days I've missed out on. So, basically, they had forgotten    What they have as exclusions will be the deciding factor on whether to swap or not

What sort of exclusions would they be talking about?

Luckily mine was pretty straight forward

Well, they will probably list Vegas' food allergy even though its not an issue anymore with the prescription diet. He injured his shoulder about a year ago so I'm hoping just lameness in that leg will be excluded and not lameness full stop :?  For Dallas, it will be the problem with his eyes for sure. He also had a cyst removed a few months back so i hope they are not going to be one of those companies who will then exclude any lumps regardless of if they are related to the original one or not :?

Actually looking through all that, will it be worth taking out insurance for them at all

Just thought I'd update you all on this mystery

I have had e-mail correspondence from the company in question and they confirmed that a Blue Roan Spaniel is a Blue Roan cocker - the word 'cocker' is left out of their listings purely as there is not enough space!

The Blue Roan at the request of 'customers'.

When I pointed out the fact that Blue Roan had cheaper premiums, they confirmed that policies under Blue Roan Spaniel

Well, thats as clear as mud then, isn't it :?:

Less claims probably because there are all colours (including blue roan) registered with them as Cocker Spaniel .  Do they do the same for any other breeds???  Sounds absolutely ridiculous if you ask me!!  Do they have lower premiums for black cats compared to other colours after all they are supposed to be lucky    Which company is this, Rachel?  Think Jane say there wouldn't be a problem naming them on the board.

I know on one (and think it may be M&S) exclude incidental things like dog bite if your dog has been attacked and needed treatment, which some of us may feel is unfair especially if our dogs were the ones attacked/bitten!
