ideas for fun dog show classes
« on: July 06, 2009, 10:43:17 PM »
my friend has asked me to organise a few fun dog classes to run at her horse show. got the usual suspects in mind but wondered whether you had seen anything a bit different that worked well? it's for charity and just for fun. so far options are:

- cutest puppy
- handsomest dog
- prettiest bitch
- musical sit (like musical bumps - judge shouts sit and last dog sat gets eliminated until one left)
- fastest recall
- longest stay
- temptation alley
- dog jumping (over v small show jumps - more of a challenge for the owners lol!)
- best rescue (as proceeds to animal rescue)

any fun(ny) suggestions?

make sure dog jumping the dogs aren't really young dogs

Egg and spoon race (dog on lead)
Sack race (dog on lead and you in a sack)
7- or 11-legged race - 2 humans tied together as per 3-legged race and either one or two dogs on lead
Friends of Hailey Park
Four Paws Animal Rescue (South Wales)

Cockers are just hooligans in cute clothing!

No although best doggy teeth brace would be a good one :lol2:

A brace is a matching pair so you could have two Cockers or two Labs etc. and a mismatched brace is two dogs of different breeds or types so you could enter a Great Dane and a Chihuahua :005:

What about temptation alley,    lot of toys etc in two straight lines handler recalls dog and the dog must not go for food or toys.

Could be alot of fun or a complete riot

Fastest sausage eater went down well at the show I organised, but check the stop watches work before hand or you will be racing about borrowing mobile phones and watches on the day!!!! :005: :005: :005:
