We've just gone for Sainsburys for Charlie, cover is lifetime on illness (option 2) and they have paid out each time for Jasper without quibble and within a few days of the claims being posted to them.

Vets fees £7500 (£75 excess), cost £14.91 a month

We are with Tesco. Most competitive I could find online and excess is just 60. most of thr policies I saw were 70 -90. I think you have to take the excess into account because if you need your vet the majority of times its going to be minor things that won't need your insurance anyway :-\

My lot are with Healthy Pets on the gold cover, it's reasonably priced, offers good cover for what I'm looking for and I've had a few biggish claims which they've paid up with no problems. I used to use M&S and they were very good but the prices went up astronomically a couple of years ago.

HSBC for us, they pay out for most things you expect (not dentistry apart from due to accident/illness) and was the cheapest I could find, it is also a "for life" policy and pays up to £7500 per year.  Not sure how they would fair for paying out as never had to do it yet.

I'm with AXA now, £7000 per year cover, £70 excess, just had the renewal for Tiff who's about 5 yrs and it's about £16pm

Was with Virgin for my other dog, £6000 per condition cover, used up the £6000 in 3 weeks in Jan and they paid up straight away, no hassles.  Changed her to AXA too now (pre-existing condition isn't covered tho)

I am with the kennel club, you got 6 weeks free when they pups and I just stayed with them. They are £24 a month so quite expensive compared to others mentioned on here, I think the excess is £50. However I am very pleased with them and they pay promptly with no quibble. I guess you just have to shop around for whats suits your needs and budget.

We've just changed to Sainsburys too! - Same cover, same price, except I've also got £40 cash back by using a cashback site.  :D
