THIRD PARTY LIABILITY ONLY DOG INSURANCE

I've just about had a belly-full of dog insurance this week, its a very loooooonggg story, but More Than have really let me down.

Anyway, my question is: do any of you have third party liability only for your dog? 

I would also welcome anyone's views on third party only, whether they think its good or bad.

Basically my thinking is that I would have third party only to cover Lola potentially biting someone or running out in front of traffic and causing accident/injury/death.  But would save a regular amount into an account for vets bills.

It's a good idea to  have it. Especially now in the case of no win no fee lawyers.

I have just joined the Dogs Trust for 20 pounds a year, this gives me up to 1 million third party Insurance and it covers all my dogs.

Ladylola's advice seems good & helps a very worthwhile cause. 

Your household insurance *should* provide liability insurance for a domestic pet - if you let me know who you have your policy with I'll try & check it for you

ooo.... not good to hear about More Than - we're with them and, while we haven't claimed, Honey's had chiropracter treatment recently, so changing insurers would likely mean an exclusion on any back problems.... 

I think the Dogs Trust membership sounds great for the just 3rd Party Liability....

Karma - I thought we were covered, I was verbally told twice by More Than that we were covered but now they've decided we are not.  Unbelievable!

I think I'm on the verge of wanting to do this.. I've just put in a claim for nearly £400 for Normy but it wouldn't have been that much if she wasn't insured as we did lots of extra tests and checks that I know deepdown weren't necessary. It is the first time I've been able to claim for a dog and with the amount I pay for both dogs I think putting the money into an account is a better way to do it tbh. Plus, worst case, if we had to we could afford expensive treatment so it's a gamble but not one that would mean having to make a 'decision based on finance' if either were really ill.

Good to know Dogs Trust are offering 3rd party only...
