Just wondering if anybody can beat this insurance renewal quote for a 5 year old male cocker without any health problems, the quote is £469.60  :o :o :o needless to say I'll not be taking it. Went on their web site and did it as a new customer the quote came in at £207.76

I think a lot of insurers try to lure customers in with a really good rate during the first year then hike it up on renewal in the hope that the customer will just pay up. But if you're otherwise happy with your insurer why don't you phone them and ask about the difference? They might drop your renewal.

I had my cats insured with Tesco and it was quite reasonable so I stayed with them then it shot up in price so I searched around and re priced up Tesco as a new customer and it was much cheaper so I started a new policy with them and cancelled my old. This year its hardly gone up at all. Its certainly worth ringing your insurer and asking them  why its more than doubled, it does seem a little excessive.
