supergirl - this is Lola's quote with £75 excess: Bronze £132.12, Silver £253.04 and Gold £372.34!!!!
If I choose to pay £120 excess: £125.52, £240.39 and £353.72 respectively!!
I think the Bronze cover is quite low at £1,000 per yr.  But the hike up to Silver and Gold is massive  :o

Try Homebase pet insurance , i pay under 300, 75 excess per condition. This is for 7000 per year which is topped up every year if you use it. It is also for the life of Jasper

I think that's a lot of money.  Equivalent to what I was paying at More Than  :-\

I haven't had my renewal through yet, but I expect that I'm going to have to shop around too

The Argos quote comes in at £74 Silver, £115 Gold, £182 Platinum (with voluntary excess of £100, making total excess of £165).
If I tick the No voluntary excess then the prices are £106, £143 and £215 respectively.

The only thing I can think of is that it is to do with where you live

I just have £65 excess (no voluntary). I think the difference may be I have 6 pets insured with them - two dogs on Platinum and four cats on Silver.

So after months of deliberation and Lola with no insurance, have taken a policy with Argos - Platinum cover.

It has cost £206.77p for the year, with no voluntary excess just the standard £65.
Why its gone down from the quote at the beginning of the year I have no idea.  But in the end I struggled with Lola not having any insurance...at least I now have piece of mind.

I changed Rodaidh and Caoimhe's insurance today, I've had them all with Healthy Pets on the gold cover for 3 years now but I got the latest renewal through last month and nearly died of shock, I have never made a claim for Caoimhe and they'd put hers up to £34 a month :fear2: and Rodaidh's was £48 :fear2: :fear2:  I have claimed for Ro but he has nothing pre-existing that I can't pay for if it should come up again. I've changed them to Sainsbury's, the top level cover is £15 per month for Caoimhe and £20 for Ro.

Tilly's is now £44 a month - plus a £75 excess and 20% of the initial bill >:( - but unfortunately I'm over a barrel with her because she had £5000 worth of treatment last year and I know she'll need more in the future so I can't change it as there's no way I can afford to cover her pre-existing conditions myself :-\

I was with HP for both dogs and 1 cat  but last year they tripled what I was paying even though we hadn't made a claim. A lot of it was because Apollo had turned 10. For Apollo they also increased his excess to a ridiculous amount and wanted us to pay some thing like 65% of bill  :-\  Needless to say I changed. Currently with Tesco but due for renewal again soon so will have to see what happens this year.
