main board down for maintenance ?
« on: March 15, 2011, 07:35:28 AM »
When I try and post a thread I get the message that the main board is down for maintenance but that the forum is open.I can see recent posts by other people so not sure why I cannot post at this time? I can also access the forum as the initial page states.

Sorry but it doesn't look like there is a problem anywhere at the moment :-\ Is it a particular board you're trying to start a new topic on or do you get the same problem on every board?

In the puppies photo board.....I have obviously managed to post here but not there.

Here is a link to the page that appears when I try.

http://www.cockersonline.co.uk/discuss/index.php?action=post2;start=0;board=119

Actually have just checked the link above and it links through to a timed out post page NOT what comes up when I am trying to post....very confusing!

I've tried to replicate what you're doing but it all seems to be fine when I try :-\
Have you tried clearing all your temporary internet files out to see if that makes a difference?

I can try that if you tell me how but I am not having any problems on any other forum. I have also tried using two different browsers to see if that makes a difference.

If you're using Firefox, go to Tools then Clear Recent History to select what you want to clear out (I'd suggest cookies & cache). For IE, go to Tools - Internet Options - General then down to Browsing History and click on Delete.

We don't seem to be getting any reports of problems from other members but will check the error log in case it throws up any clues.

Have cleared everything out but still no luck. I thought it had worked as it allowed me to make a post with one photo but when I add more the same maintenance screen appears...

It's a strange one :-\ I've just added 2 more photos to your thread from the set without any problems but I only used part of the code Flickr gave you (if you click on Modify you'll see what I did). I'm not sure if all that extra unnecessary code caused the problem or not :-\

It has always accepted the Flickr link before with no problems so have no idea what was going on....

I have managed to add the photos using the method you used so at least I have a way round it! thanks for the help! :D :D :D

Are you trying to modify a post or just post a completely new reply? I can see you've recently posted on the Feeding board but there's only a full stop nothing else on your post :D

It's only on that particular feeding thread where I seem to be having trouble.
I've tried to reply & modify without success
