Is insurance usually more for boys?

Following on from the Halifax Insurance thread, I've just gone onto Petplan for a quote for Indie and am surprised that her quote seeing as she is 4 years old is less than I pay for Quinn for the exact same insurance.   

Its making me wonder whether they charged me more for Quinn because I had the 6 weeks free insurance and then went onto continuing with them.    I can't understand why Indie's quote is less than Quinn's.

This as well here!! Jacob as a 4 month old cocker pup cost more with the same company as Piper who was a 7 year old cocker! It made no sense to me, but apparantly there are more claims with male cockers compared to female cockers!

Yes she is and yep he's intact.    Oh well, it was a nice surprise anyway, was expecting her insurance to be more and that price will go down with multi pet discount.    

I'm not even going to bother with any other company than Petplan now, Indie was "insured for life" - thats a joke.

Jasper I had the same Dexter's policy is slightly more than Charlie's. I questioned it and was told there are more claims from puppies

wilf's insurance is the same as ruby's and the insurance don't even know he's neutered as it was taken out when he was 8 weeks old.
