I have just rec'd my renewal from argos for phoebe's insurance. They have now joined forces with R.S.A >:( and I'm not a happy bunny, last year Phoebe's premiums were £14.28 per month this year they now want £28.48 per month DOUBLE cheeky sods >:( and I haven't got Mia's renewal yet. So I have phoned them and they said oh it's cause the vets have put up their prices so much RUBBISH >:D so please anybody with Argos beware >:D >:D. So now I have gone with lv.com £14.50per month and better cover instead of argos cover £7,000 per year that's your lot >:( lv.com is £5,000 per condition  life time cover ;) god I'm fuming with Argos >:D >:D

If you look at the insurance board I guarantee price hikes, with any insurer, are not uncommon at all  ;)

Expect the same with Iv.com next year - this is par for the course!  I'd say anyone who has had cheap insurance for a year will have a shock on renewal.

I've stayed with M&S which was very cheap for the first year  - it doubled in cost on year 2 and then it stabilised so it is in line with the other 'expensive' insurances now.  We've claimed in the past so it makes it more difficult to move.

My girls have always been insured with Sainsburys.  The premiums have always been reasonable.
I have had no claims at all but this year Marley's renewal was £200 more than Stevie's  :o :o   (they are litter sisters so no difference in age)
It took quite a while to sort out.  I had to ring Sainsburys who agreed that it did not make sense. They had to ring the underwriters to explain and eventually it was reduced to that of Stevie's.
I was lucky in that I had a direct comparison so could query it otherwise I would have thought they had just hiked it up.
Max (GSP)  always in my heart

We moved from Healthy pets to Argos as they doubled their premium last year.

We will expect a price rise at renewal time and seeing as we claimed for an eye specialist visit and although she doesn't have an eye condition per se, it will make it hard for us to move too.

And to add,Argos are absolutely *rap at paying out to.  >:(

People laugh at me because I'm different, but I laugh at them because they are all the same.

I've got Argos Platinum for Odie and the first year (as usual) was reasonable, the second went up quite a bit but I managed to get it for £200 for the year.  It's due in May but as always, I'll shop around as Odie hasn't had any vet treatment as yet (touches wood).  LV was in the running last year so they are my 1st stop this time.
Both taken away from us far too soon. x  RIP Angels Odie & Archie, causing mayhem at the Rainbow, no doubt!

I had this problem too- I posted a few weeks ago on it. I've got the same cover as Argos on John Lewis well over a £100 a year cheaper.

After Beaus 'swallow an (empty) poo bag' incident a few weeks ago and subsequent hefty bill for out of hours consultation and treatment,  I am pleased to say that Argos have settled in only 14 days from posting claim form to receiving cheque.
The hospital would have dealt with the claim directly but with an 'admin' fee,  so I am glad I elected to pay and claim myself.
Excellent service I have to say,  lets hope the policy renewal is equally pain free !

I think all insurances are the same be it animal or home.  Reel you in with cheap insurance first year, then hit you the second.
