Title: puppy fur
Post by: saracens123 on October 14, 2013, 08:24:56 PM
Our Little Sam currently has a full coat of puppy fur and looks like a teddy bear :lol2: however I was wondering at what age his coat will begin to change into a more adult texture (not that we want him to lose his pup fluff look as he's very cute :D) and more importantly when will we need to look at a full trim?we have already trimmed his legs and ears.

How old is he? you can start using a comb with and elastic band threaded through it which will start to remove any puppy fur that is ready to come out :)

6 months and very naughty :005: we brush him daily and nothing seems to come out.

A brush probably won't bring any puppy fur out. Use a comb with an elastic bands threaded through or a coat king :)

With Georgies coat I use a Spratts metal comb with an elastic band through it and put chalk dust onto her coat, it helps tease it out, she's beginning to look more like a cocker now instead of a fuzzy teddy bear.

A Google search on "coat king" will give you several hundred pages of information, prices, suppliers and videos on their use and will give far more info that can be given on here  ;). They're available on Amazon here....http://www.amazon.co.uk/MARS-Mars-Coat-King-Original-20-Blade/dp/B0012GLEHO
