Hi-ya,

I'm Andrew and live in Lincolnshire near S****horpe.
The dog is Saffron and she has just turn 2 yrs old and is a working class CS with a great generation of FT winner in her Family tree.

I am here to meet other CS owners and find some great places to take my Saffron out for the day on long walks.

Was browsing  and saw a some sort of meeting that was set up previous at Clumber park. So got interested in the forum and here I am.

Researching heavily for walks now within driving distance of where i live.

Just returned from a weeks Holiday at the peak district where me and Saffron stayed in a cottage and visited a variety of landscapes clocking up over 70 miles in walks.
We then went to Malham for the day.

Looking a Sherwood Forest, rufford park and clumber park to visit all in a day next.

Also looking for a beach walk where i can let her off the lead also.

Looks a great forum here and look forward to getting involved :)

Andrew (and saffron)

I used to live a Waddington for a while but now I am back in the North of Scotland where I belong so afraid I can't help with walks unless you don't consider that too far to drive  ;)

Just wanted to say hi. I have two working cockers called Glen and Sally. Both are my wee angels/devils depends what day you speak to me but I wouldn't be without them for a second.  :luv:

Thanks for the welcomes!
Really appreciate it.
This looks a great, friendly forum for cocker owners (and Cockers!)
I'll have to look at the meetings so Saffron can meet other cockers.

(Cant believe the forum censored the town near where i live  >:(. But then it does contain a 4 letter swear word in it begining with C ending T.  oh well tut tut  :005:)

I'm looking into Lake district & Cumbria and might climb Scarfell Pike (highest mountain in England) with Saffron. But thats as far as i'd be willing to travel with her in the car unless it was a weeks stay or something.

GREAT to meet fellow cocker owners btw

Krisdt : Yeah it will be around another 2 months probably before I get something sorted out for a visit to the lakes.
You'll have to send or tell me some good places for taking the dog there

I had found www.walkthelakes.co.uk but its not made by a dog owner with walks in mind for taking dogs like www.walkingthedogs.co.uk (an excellent site i used heavily for walks in Peak district)

jools : I agree totally on your last comment

Hiya Andrew!

My partner is also from your censored town and he always makes the joke about the four letter swearword at the beginning  ::)

We're from rotherham and have little Milo, working cocker poopie  >:D

Can't tell you much bout good walks round here as tend to go to the peaks .. but rother country park is nice, also worsbrough in barnsley. they are easy strolls tho not mountain hiking! I'll be interested in meeting other cocker owners when a meet is suggested for anywhere round s yorks/lincs etc as i want to get milo socialising with other nice doggies as the only ones he's met seem to be meany/oblivious to the fact he's there and stand on him :(

Saffron is GORGEOUS by the way i love black workers  :luv:

Sabrino : thank you  I will check out Rother country park and Worsbrough on t'internet. Likewise I think i'm gonna start going to the peak district regular for my long hikes as only 1hr half away. But great to vary it with country park, woods, beaches etc.

I'm looking to visit loads of different places and i like to take photos aswell. Joined the National Trust and will also maybe join a meeting here one day so my Cocker can socialise with other like minded friendly attentive dogs :)

Hi and welcome to COL Andrew and Saffron  :D

Sorry, no help with the walks here either as I live in Scotland but just wanted to welcome you to the forum. I have 3 working cockers - Tilly is my 2 and a half year old solid liver girl, Alfie is 17 months old and blue roan and finally Rodaidh is the 6 month old golden boy  :shades:

I love the pictures of Saffron, she looks lovely  :luv:  Do you work her at all? I had Tilly out last season and will have both her and Alfie out this year. Rodaidh is my field trial hope for the future!

Nicola : Hi. thanks. no i dont work her. Wouldn't know how to get her into field trial competitions at moment to be honest. Something i'd definetely like to maybe get her into though if i find out about it and training. Maybe also, one day, have a litter from her. Which is why i travelled nearly 4hrs to see here as a 4 week old pup, and then another 4hrs to pick her up when ready - from wales. She must have about 35 field winner/champs in her 5 generation pedigree certificate, off my head. Love the action shot of alfie at full size!

Hello and welcome Saffron is lovely. Can't help with the walks as I live in north west, but we are planning to walk up Scafell Pike next week, I'll let you know how it goes! Just hope we get a good day weather wise.
