I used to have a dog phobia!
« on: January 05, 2010, 08:14:23 PM »
I used to have a dog phobia - I couldn't even look at a dog without crying.  Somehow my husband convinced me that getting a dog would be the best therapy.  I got a red working cocker in July and he is the best ever.  I like dogs more than people now!

Hellp and Welcome!

Fantastic to hear that you have overcome your phobia - Secretly I think cockers can do that for people - the lady up the road really does not like dogs and now Poppy has got her so that she gives Poppy kisses on the face!!  The secret power of the cocker  :005:

Looking forward to hearing all about your doggie!

Sounds like my daughter, she'd cry and cross the road to avoid them till we got Jasper 4 years ago.....

Somehow or other, we now have 4 cockers and Meg's a member of the YKC, took her dog (our 2nd cocker) to Crufts in a display when he was 5 months old and now shows and does handling herself.  Amazing how they change your lives  ;)

Thanks for all your kind posts.  I've had a few problems uploading pictures but I'll crack it!  He's worth the wait as he's so gorgeous.

Oh, he's called Olly by the way.

That's lovely to hear how Olly has changed your life in the way only a Cocker can. :luv: I'll look forward to seeing the pics. :D

I've never been scared of dogs, but believe it or not, I was very scared the first time I ever held a rat - then before long, I had 6 of them! :005:

Yep thats me  ;) thanks mum!
As she's already said, I was absolutly terrifed of dogs, then slowly got braver and now spend most weekends at shows with billons of them! Now I really don't know what I would do without them! (Even if they do drive us 'round the bend)  ;)
