Will phone them to register Spaniel Trust concern, but to be fair I expect he will be claimed very soon as he looks as though he has recently been groomed.

I`ve just got off the phone to them and he can be released on Sunday (9-aug)

I`m driving over there tomorrow to have a look see with the kids to see what he is like. By all accounts he was found on Sunday and doesn`t appear to very old.
Fingers crossed he is eitherfound by his family, or that he is rescued by a loving forever home.

Cheers for the info

Well not great news from the hound pound. :-\
He is a very good looking dog but has had bno training whatsoever. Unfortunately we will be unable to help this very bouncy boy as he is just too strong for my better half, I think he is more of a cockerdor that a cocker, he looks beautiful but is nearly twice the size of Bayliss. Very strong indeed. He also has ingrowing eyelashes which look very sore indeed. I`m sure he will be in a forever home very soon though because he could be a fantastic dog for someone.

We agreed that for any rescue dog to join our family we both had to be 100% happy with them and both be confident we could help with the re-training/rehab, on this occasion neither of us were anywhere close.

J what is the release fee for this dog?  (That's me on my knees to the Trustees again! )

I am very concerned about his eyes being treated by any new "owner" and also that he has rescue back up.

If anyone can collect and hold the boy we will refund his release fee and arrange transport to our vets for eye treatment, and a suitable foster/rehab till ready to rehome.

He only has till Tuesday but would be better out on Sunday he needs urgent treatment for those eyes.

I hope someone can help this boy - he looks lovely.   :luv: :luv:

Coco had the eye op at just over a year old and no problems since - if I was closer I would spring him.  :-\

J - did they have other people going to look at him?  The alternative would be a bloomin shame  :'( :'(  I agree with Fifer it would be far better for him to go to a rescue for assessment and to have proper back up  :-\  I would be happy to contribute to the release fee if that is an issue  ;)

I have just phoned and he has been sent to a rescue centre for rehoming I hope that means he will have that much needed eye op.

Sorry for the delay in responding.
The release fee was £75 and I believe that the spaniel trust had said they would take him if he wasn`t taken by today (sat 8th)

really hope he finds a great home as he was a very bonny dog
