I'm heading over soon to search, but I have no knowledge of the area at all. There is nobody else out looking for him, although Nicola may be able to go over. Is there anyone who can help?

Possibly got some good news. The previous owner used to walk him in the woods in this area when visiting a friend so he may try and go to the friends house. She and the friend are out looking for him this morning so fingers crossed they have some luck.

Really want to get posters put up to spread the word. Crossposted to half a dozen forums too and a contact has emailed the whole vet school which iis closeby.

  • To understand a cocker, you need to be a cocker!

I hope he is found safe and well this morning.  I've got work today or I'd be up to help in a heart beat.

Also praying for a safe return, have crossposted to NESSR.
Just a thought have you contacted the local council/dog warden? Also the pound which they take lost dogs too?

No news. Just heard from Nicola. Fiona and her have been out looking for the last few hours and there's no sign. Nobody has reported any sightings yet either.  :-\

Nothing I'm afraid :-\   Fiona had already been walking around for ages when I got there and we re-did the woods and walked way up beyond them along some residential streets, through more parks and more woods around a lake and then all the way back. We stopped dog walkers etc. but nobody has seen anything. The thing with that area is that he could have gone in any one of doG knows how many directions, the woods have lots of paths leading in and out in all directions. There are several main roads nearby and on the other side of those more open ground and then it's just open countryside and the we went there are paths leading off in every direction as well so until there's a sighting of him so he can be pinpointed to a specific area it's a bit like looking for a needle in a haystack :-\

I'm just back, I searched the whole of the woods where he was last seen, then when Nicola arrived we searched a lot of the surrounding area, asking people if they had seen him, but he could be anywhere. There are fields for miles, and it would have been impossible for us to cover the whole area. :-\

I might go back over in the morning and search Mugdock Country Park which is a couple of miles past the area, and has moors where dogs could easily get lost, but hopefully there will be at least one sighting by then.

If anyone else is willing to help, please let us know.

Can't help I'm afraid, but really hope you find him tomorrow - would it be feasible to put an alert out over the local radio (is that radio Clyde or someone else)?.
